Ohio vs Akron

This past weekend I traveled to Akron to cover the Ohio Bobcats take on the Akron Zips at InfoCision Stadium – Summa Field. After a slow start and rainy first half, the Bobcats pulled away for a 43-3 victory. Enjoy!

Ohio vs. Austin Peay

Last weekend, Ohio hosted Austin Peay State University at Peden Stadium. Despite the rain in the first half, the Bobcats coasted to an easy 38-0 victory. The blowout allowed me to try different angles so I shot the 4th quarter from the roof of the stadium. Ohio is now 3-1 overall and opens up MAC play in two weeks at Akron. Enjoy!

Ohio vs. Marshall – Battle for the Bell

The Battle for the Bell rivalry between the Ohio Bobcats and the Marshall Thundering  Herd was renewed last night at Peden Stadium. The teams exchanged scores throughout the game but Ohio came out on top in a thrilling 34-31 victory to keep the bell in Athens, Enjoy!

Ohio vs. North Texas

Last night Ohio hosted North Texas at Peden Stadium for their home opener. The Bobcats defeated North Texas 27-21. This game was a new experience  because it was my first home game shooting for the Ohio University Athletic Department. I enjoy the new challenges of the job.

Ohio vs Louisville

This past weekend I traveled to Louisville for the Ohio Bobcats football season opener. It was my first football game I shot for the Ohio University Athletic Department. With my new role, I had to change how I shot the game. While Ohio was defeated 49-7, it was a great experience. Enjoy!

2013 Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp

This summer I was lucky enough to shoot the 49th annual Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA.  Camp had a more physical tone this year with live tackling most days of the week. It was a blast to shoot, enjoy! 

Frogger

Last weekend, I shot one of my favorite assignments of the summer. The Fairfield Boys Club hosted the 44th Annual Frog Jumping Contest at the Fairfield Community Center. This event is a contest where frogs have to jump from an inner circle of about three feet in diameter to an outer circle of about 15 feet in diameter. The catch for the human contestants is that they cannot touch the frogs; they can only blow on them or slap the ground behind them. If you don’t own a frog, you’re not out of luck; you can pick from small jumpy ones or large powerful ones. Enjoy!

Summer at the Trib

It has been forever since my last blog post. I have had a great past few months though. After the completion of  my freshman year at Ohio University, I returned home to Latrobe, PA to freelance for The Tribune-Review. I have shot a wide variety of assignments and enjoyed all of them. From May until now, I have learned a lot and had a lot of fun, and the best part is that I expect the last month of summer to continue on the same path.

A Wild Weekend

Last weekend was super busy for me but it was a good busy. I was able to cover very different events all in the same day. Friday I shot Pickle Fest, a pickle eating contest hosted by the Bagel Street Deli. Then, I hustled over to Bob Wren Stadium to shoot the Ohio Bobcats baseball game. Saturday I covered my first street fest in Athens, High Fest. After that, I went to the Athens Community Center for a Civil War Ball hosted by the Athens historical society. It was quite the weekend, I hope you enjoy!

Spring Break

Last week I was back home in PA for my spring break. I had a lot time to walk around and make pictures, it was a relaxing time. Enjoy!
