Pittsburgh Steelers Training Camp
This is the 46th year that the Pittsburgh Steelers have come to Saint Vincent College in Latrobe, PA. I have once again been lucky enough to cover the everyday grind of training camp. Here are the highlights of the 2012 campaign.
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. St. Louis Rams
Around Thanksgiving time, my editor called and asked me to work on Christmas Eve. At first, I was not too thrilled at the prospect of missing family traditions, but that sentiment quickly changed when I discovered that I would be covering the Pittsburgh Steelers at Heinz Field in the team’s quest to defeat the St. Louis Rams. I was fortunate enough to borrow a 300 mm F2.8, heavy duty equipment I had never used before. With every step of my 15-minute walk to the stadium, my excitement grew. Finally, I entered the stadium through the Media/Player entrance and waited in the photo filing room. Anticipation built. Then at game time, I walked onto the field as the National Anthem was playing and 66,000 people were waving Terrible Towels. The emotion was overwhelming! I had a great afternoon shooting my first NFL game.
